During the conversion of automobiles, is a road car to get tuned for the track. But occasionally, there is a corridor that is so badass, tuning companies have to make it street legal. This is the case of Zakspeed Dodge Viper GTS-R-Classics Heurich. Dodge may be working on its next-generation Viper, but for many, the second generation is the true vocation for the sports car and the 1998 Viper GTS-R was too good to be left alone.
Originally, the 1998 Viper Racing Zakspeed belonged to, and was purchased in 2010 by someone who wanted to recreate the snake in this original design of the vehicle during the victory in the legendary 1999 24 Hours of Nürburgring, and make it street legal. To do this, they resorted to Classic Heurich, a German tuning company specialized in the maintenance and repair of vintage classics.
There were several changes to make this classic runner became a crazy street legal machine. The Viper had to cut off his spoiler, rear diffuser withdrew, and his rebuilt side channels and changed its braking system. New tires and wheels were a special order and a brake system with new CNC caliper carrier was installed. In the case of the car interior, seats, harnesses, and glazing were renewed, and new passenger seats were installed. Even the electrical work redone also. The final touch was always with the traditional colors and livery of the original Viper GTS-R Hasseroder.
When work is completed on the exterior and interior, the tuner will switch its focus on the motor. The steering angle had to be increased, there was a change in the cooling system, extra fans installed, modified engine peripherals, and the exhaust system adapted to get the Viper with the codes. This resulted in 6.2-liter V8 engine delivering a total of 600 HP, combined with a manual gearbox six-speed Tremec.
