2011 Cadillac CTS-V Coupe Modifications

Most people are very aware of the pedigrees of racing nameplate European luxury, but not many people know about the history of the competition from Cadillac. Racing at Le Mans in 1950 with a Briggs Cunningham Coupe DeVille and enter Monstre Le, the ill-fated David Zacharias Eldorado fun car to a return to Le Mans at the turn of the century, Cadillacs have competed more often than it might think.

But the most successful careers Cadillacs of all time were almost certainly highly modified first-generation CTS-V built and campaigned by Pratt & Miller, with the full backing of GM in the Sports Car Club of America World Challenge GT series. The factory program was developed between 2004 and 2007, winning championships in '05 manufacturer and '07, and the crown of Andy Pilgrim driving in '05. But when the original CTS-V was discontinued, and he was the program. Fortunately, it seems that was only temporary.

Pratt & Miller (the same company behind the Corvette program in the American Le Mans Series) is working hard to rebuild a couple of new 2011 CTS-V Coupe for the rigors of racing World Challenge. The cars are equipped with a larger lower body, large rear spoiler, side exhaust, power dome hoods, the full roll cages and many other parts intended to maximize speed and security within the rules. (No word yet on what has been done with the street car's supercharged 6.2-liter V8).
